| If talented players
at this year's Wimbledon Championships have left you feeling inspired,
why not take a tennis holiday in the sunshine of the Iberian peninsula.
Here are four possible locations:
La
Manga Tennis Academy, which is part of the La Manga Club, a
1,400 acre sports complex in south-east Spain, has tennis tuition
for all ages and levels. A Junior Pro Tennis Academy coaches young
tennis tournament players during the summer holidays.
For adults, La Manga offers two hours of coaching
every weekday, plus an optional hour in a high-tech coaching room
looking at matchplay theory and practice. You can seriously brush
up on your strokes and enter the Academy's friendly matches and
tournaments, or combine a tennis holiday with horse riding, water
sports or golf.
Barcelona's Bruguera
Tennis Academy holds summer camps for dedicated tennis professionals.
In addition to three hours' physical training
and three hours' tactical training each day, players can opt to
take Spanish or English classes, or a 'psychology program' aimed
at improving emotional control.
Jonathan
Markson Tennis has a centre in the Algarve region of Portugal,
where the coaching is 'serious but fun' and suitable for all levels,
from beginner to tournament players. A 15-hour-a-week programme
focuses on a different stroke each day, and aims to help improve
technique, fitness and mental attitude.
Also in the Algarve, the Vale
do Lobo resort claims to house Portugal's largest tennis facility.
It also has two golf courses and water sports facilities.
