It's easy to miss the sounds and smells of Mexico.
All the country's bright colours and its lively people.
But to master Spanish is going to be more difficult
than I imagined, with so many verbs and tenses. I think I grasped
the basics, but it would be hard to become properly fluent in Spanish
without being immersed in it on a daily basis. I don't even have
satellite TV.
TEFL would be a good idea. Though there's not much
point doing a course unless I'm going to live abroad.
What I really need is a bit more action. I should
work and get fit at the same time. Not in a gym. Out in the fresh
air.
As a lifeguard, I could save people and become a
hero. A heroine. In reality, though, I'd probably fall off my perch
with boredom looking at people swimming all day. Like watching a
tennis match.
