and a single journey €1.60.
A €16 one-day City Pass gives you free access
to public transport plus a ride on the tourist train, free entry
to 14 museums and a trip to the Château d'If. Purchase the

Here are 10 ways to spend an active afternoon
in Marseille:
- Hop on and off the open-deck tourist
buses. Adults €16 for one day - €20 for two
days. Or catch the No 83 bus (€1.60 one way) along the coast
to the beaches.
- Orientate yourself with a trip on the tourist
train. Two routes operate - one visits the old town,
passing the Cathedral, while the other climbs to see the panorama.

- Join one of the many specialist walking tours
organised by the tourist office. Adults €6.5. For details

- Take the boat to the Ile d'If
(and visit the Château d'If) and/or the
Iles de Frioul. Entry to the Château costs
€4.60. It is closed on Monday.
The boat costs €10 return to the Ile d'If, €10 to
the Iles de Frioul and €15 to combine the two.
- Visit Cassis, a picturesque
village along the coast, by boat. Or by bus, which takes around
45 minutes, from the Place Castellane.
- Vroom off to the Musée de la Moto
(motorbike museum) on the outskirts of the city - 18, Traverse

- Ride the rapids of the
Gorges de l'Ardeche, near Marseille, on a half-day kayak
