| Spa retreats are cropping
up all over the UK, so you can relax for a day or be pampered during
a longer stay.
Here are some places to go:
Day membership at The
Sanctuary in central London, which is just for women, includes
use of the atrium pool, exercise pool, hammam, sauna, bubbling spa
pools and restaurant. Look out for special day pass offers that
include treatments and gift sets.
Also in central London, the Elemis
day spa, which is for men and women, has a range of treatments from
Bali, Tibet, Polynesia, Japan, Morocco and Thailand. The Absolute
Spa Ritual takes two hours.
A two-night stay at Ragdale
Hall in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, includes use of exercise
classes, pools, sauna and other sports facilities, as well as therapies,
massage treatments and meals. An overnight reviver break includes
use of the facilities and one treatment.
Durley
Hall in Bournemouth has a two night spa retreat that includes
a health consultation, hydrotherapies, massages and other treatments,
as well of use of the facilities. Its day spa option for non-residents
includes many of the same treatments.
St
David's Hotel & Spa in Cardiff, Wales, specialises in marine
hydrotherapy treatments. It has a walk-through hydropool, underwater
loungers with high pressure water jets, jacuzzi, exercise pool and
sauna, as well as a relaxation room overlooking Cardiff bay.
In Scotland, Dalhousie
Castle near Edinburgh is a 13th Century fortress on the banks
of the river Esk. Look out for special breaks at its Aqueous spa.
