Water sports are a refreshing activity on a family
holiday and provide lots of fun for kids - young and old alike.
Here are some places to get your feet wet...
PGL
Family Active has a self-drive holiday in Hameau-Les-Ages in the
Dordogne region of France. Families can choose from a range of water-
and land-based activities, including kayaking, sailing and windsurfing.
Acorn
Venture also has self-drive holidays to centres in France where
water-based activities include dragon boating, banana boating, raft
building, kayaking, canoeing, land yachting, sailing, snorkeling,
white water rafting and windsurfing. Children must be at least seven
years of age to participate in the activities.
Headwater
says its multi-activity family holidays in France and Switzerland
are popular with families who enjoy being on holiday together, but
do not want to do the same thing all the time.
For families that want to concentrate on the rapids,
Water by
Nature has rafting holidays in Morocco and Turkey.
For families with teenagers, Exodus'
Julian Alps Adventure Family Holiday includes white water rafting,
kayaking, canoeing, and hydrospeed, among other activities. It is
based in Bovec, Slovenia and has a recommended minimum age of 12.
Some activities have a minimum age of 16.
For a day out in the UK, splash
at the Quay
West waterpark in Paignton, Devon.
