Steve cycles into the Guinness Book of Records
Home

Steven Strange has ridden into the Guinness Book of Records by cycling around the world in record time. He completed the journey, which began in Vancouver, Canada on 9th May 2004, in 276 days 19 hours and 15 minutes.

Strange says one of the motives behind the feat was to raise money for the Uphill Ski Club, a charity that teaches disabled people to ski so they can enjoy the sport while improving their co-ordination, self-confidence, and social and decision-making skills.

He travelled 29,614 km (18,394 miles) at an average speed of 21.4 km (13.3 miles) per hour and had five flat tyres. His route and other statistics are shown on his website, www.stevesbikeride.org.
