Instead of busking your
way around the world, try building sand castles. For inspiration
visit Brighton's sand sculpture festival where experts have carved
around 10,000 tonnes of sand into Egyptian-style formations.
According to www.visitbrighton.com,
the sculptors have used rough-edged river sand and sea water to
manipulate the sculptures into complex formations. They finished
the giant sand castles with a protective mixture that includes egg
white, which acts as a windscreen and preserves the detail even
in bad weather.
The festival is on until 11th September 2005. Adults
£6, under 12s £3.50. Open daily 11.00 to 20.00.
