  1. Visit the Melbourne Aquarium on the River Yarra. Open daily 09.30 to 18.00. Adults AUS$23, under 16s AUS$13.

  2. Take a cruise along the river Yarra with Melbourne River Cruises. To see the port and docklands, and the scenic river gardens takes 2.5hrs. Adults $33.80.

  3. See cricket or Australian Rules football at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

  4. See diverse plant collections and stroll around the lakes of the Royal Botanic Gardens.

  5. Hop on the No 96 tram in Brunswick Street to take an iconic journey to St Kilda.
