...to leave photocopies
of the following with someone at home so they can contact relevant
bodies should the need arise:
- passport
- credit cards
- insurance policy (your policy number & the
24hr emergency phone number)
- E111 (UK) or health insurance card
You may also want to keep a set of photocopies in
a separate place in your luggage.
If you hand over your passport for some time, ask
for a receipt. If it goes missing, ask for a statement confirming
details of the disappearance.
Keep receipts of any expensive items you are carrying
with you in case you need to claim on your insurance.
It is also a good idea to carry a wallet containing
some small notes and change in an obvious place. Then thieves are
less likely to look for your well-concealed money belt. |
