Avoid infested areas if possible, but if the midges do find
you juicy, try some of the following to keep them at bay:
- Wear loose or thicker clothing with long trousers
and long sleeves.
- Tuck your trousers into your socks.
- Sleep under a mosquito net.
- Use insect repellent with a high DEET (diethyltouamide)
factor (apply repellent over sunscreen and reapply it at regular
intervals). See Nathnac
for guidance.
- Natural alternatives include lemon, eucalyptus
oil and tea tree oil.
- Let the smell of dettol waft around the room.
